Sharda Gramin Bank Sponsored by Allahabad Bank was established on 31.03.1979 under section 3(I) of Regional Rural Bank act 1976, by the notification published by authority in the Gazette of India (extraodinary) vide Ref No PART II,Section 3-Sub section(II) under the name of famous Goddess "MAA SHARDA". The Bank started bussiness on 21st May,1979.

The Commitment to rural development has found expression by launching schemes meant for amelioration of socio-economic conditions of rural masses.The Bank is set to provide banking facilities to all concerned particularly the weaker sections of society in an endeavour to increase opportunity for gainful employment and earnings.The strategies have been formulated to cover all the needy farmers,labourers,traders,professionals etc.to augment their income through timely credit facilities.'No frill'accounts aggregating to 2,90,276 have been opened by the branches under National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme by adopting holistic approach.
